Marek Hamsik was born on 27 July 1987 in Banska Bystrica, Slovakia. Slovak players play in the midfield position.

Hamsik started playing in the youth team Jupie Podlavice in Banska Bystrica. In 2002, he joined the great Slovakian club, Slovan Bratislava. He played once with Slovan senior team and scored 1 goal.

Hamsik moved to Brescia in 2004 at the age of 17. Transfer is worth 500 thousand Euro. His first match with Brescia was against Chievo Verona on 20 March 2005 at the age of 17 years 237 days. On 28 June 2007, he joined with Napoli with a transfer of 5.5 million Euros.
