Mauro Icardi was born in Rosario, Argentina on February 19, 1993 and moved with his family to Canary Island, Spain when he was six years old. He started his football career by joining Vecindario in Gran Canaria.
During his six year career as a young soccer player with Vecindario, Icardi managed to show his stunning performance as a spearhead. He scored about 500 goals for his team.
His undoubted capabilities led some European big club managers to target him into the team. Barcelona, Real Madrid, Valencia, Sevilla, Espanyol, Deportivo La Coruna, Arsenal and Liverpool flocked to offer him a contract at the end of the 2007-2008 season.
Icardi decided to join the Catalonia-based team, F.C. Barcelona and agreed to sign a five-year contract with team management.
Icardi officially joined Barcelona at the beginning of the 2008-2009 season and became one of the retainers in the squad U17 Barcelona team. In the next season he was promoted to join the U19 squad, but he had to join Sampdoria as a loan player in January 2011.
Sampdoria's management confirmed to the media that the Argentine striker had signed a loan contract until the end of the season. Icardi said he was happy about this move, he told the media that leaving Barcelona for Sampdoria is not a bad choice and he also felt the need for permanent displacement from Barça.
Six months of lending was a successful career Icardi had with Sampdoria. He scored thirteen goals in nineteen games with the Primavera team. The achievement was awarded with a transfer price of € 400,000 and a three-year contract in July 2011.
Icardi's debut for Sampdoria took place one year after the signing of the contract in May 2012, he was dropped in the game against Juve Stabia in the 75th minute to replace Bruno Fornaroli. Ten minutes after being dropped onto the pitch, Icardi scored his first international goal and delivered Sampdoria to a 2-1 final win.
In early January 2013, Icardi contributed two goals from his feet in Juventus' goal in the match held at Juventus Stadium and brought victory to his team with a final score of 2-1. In the same month, in the game against Pescara, Icardi scored four goals for ninety minutes of the match. Goal is to save Sampdoria from relegation Serie A relegation threat.
At the end of April 2013, it was announced that Icardi will join Internazionale before the start of the 2013-2014 season. The news of the agreement between the management of Sampdoria and Internazionale was then confirmed by Sampdoria. Icardi scored his first goal for Inter in a pre-season friendly against the Bundesliga team, Hamburger SV. For an international career, Icardi started his debut in the squad of the U-20 Argentine National Team in a match against the German National Team.
In February 2013, Icardi confessed to the media that he wanted to become a retainer of the senior squad of the Argentine National Team, "I am Argentine, I feel as an Argentine and I always dream to wear the national team uniform. If the dream is achieved, it is my maximum achievement. "
In October 2013, Icardi finally called to join the senior squad of Argentina and play in the game against Uruguay national team.
